INSPIRATIONS
Citadel TrailerWhat we liked behind this trailer was that it gave us a good insight of the storyline in a short amount of time. This lead to us already building a sort of relationship already in the trailer. We will try and show as much of our characters as we can in our attempt to help the audience to understand the characteristics of the main protagonist to help the audience to understand the plot. The fast paced quick shots are effective in this as it creates a feeling of action within the horror which we are aiming to mirror into our trailer to have a sense of thriller as well as horror to give us an edge on already existing horrors. Following from this it also it is based around an infection which is a similar idea to our teaser trailer plot.
I Am Legend TrailerThis trailer was what we would like to base our idea around the most. We want to try and create the illusion of our storyline being set in a abandoned place and set around survival. We feel this trailer strongly did this and set out genres alongside horror such as action and adventure, which we aslo will try and compare to. In this trailer they use mutated people instead of zombies, this is what we are trying to base our horror on as we want to get away from the typical zombie horror and make something new. The use of music in this trailer is effective for making it like an action because it's very upbeat and exciting, we aim to mirror this theme but in an orignal way.

Chernobyl Diaries TrailerWhat we liked about this trailer was the sudden change of a normal happy atmosphere, to a mysterious horror. We liked there use of location, being based in a huge abandoned area alone with something 'hunting' them. We will take a few of these ideas and adapted them to be our own. What we liked about this is it is a group of people searching a location, as we are using a group of people we feel we can relate to this horror and use it to make ours effective in the same way. The shot when they see the children with the torch is effective because you can't clearly see what it is which leaves a mysterious feeling but we know they are not along, this helps the audience to realise they are never alone.
REC trailerWhat we liked about this trailer was how there was no words, yet still lead us into watching. The use of screams and phone calls and all the other sound effects inspired us to use them in our horror, and showed us that silence can be just as affective as loud bangs. This trailer uses darkness as the most effective aspect throughout, the shot of the little girl when you can just see her as a silhouette in the dark is very effective because as the audience viewing we can't see what is happening or what she is, throughout the film the sense of the unknown is what creates the largest effect on the audience because they don't know what to expect for the plot of the film.
