OUTBREAK
POSITIVES: The first idea we thought that was positive about this trailer is the variety of location that is used, the most effective of these locations being the train track as it links to the sense of danger which helps the trailer gain the horror feeling. The next thing we picked up on was how fast paced the majority of the camera shots were, this is effective in a trailer because faced paced shots help to make a trailer more exciting and is more positive effect on the audience when in comparison too slow shots which drag out.
IMPROVE: The first thing we believed could be improved in the trailer was the length of the actual trailer as we feel it was a bit short. This meant we didn't get to see many shots revolving around the plot which ultimately lead to us not understanding the story and questioning the plot of the trailer. Furthermore we believe the sound could've been improved as it was straying away from the theme of horror which led to the trailer slightly losing a sense of horror as it didn't reflect the shots used.

REFORMATION
POSITIVE: In this trailer we decided the most effective part was simply the variety of shots used. All the shots were fast paced and used many classic horror shots like a close up and long shot for example. Ultimately this helped to make the trailer frightening and exciting for the audience to watch. Following from this our second point we found which made the trailer effective was the soundtrack and sound effects which helped to understand the sense of horror and made it clear to the audience the genre and subgenre of the film, an example of this being the scream sound effect used as it is linked to people in danger. Adding to this we believe the use of costume was also effective in the teaser trailer as the victim was wearing a white gown. In horror films white usually links to vulnerability of the victim; furthermore white allows the audience to still see the blood clearly on the victim no matter the length of the shot.
IMPROVE: For the improvements we found one thing we thought could be changed to make the trailer more effective, this was the titles used at the end of the trailer. We didn't like the titles as they looked almost a bit tacky and didn't fit in with the rest of the trailer and the sub genre. I believe it makes the trailer slightly lose a sense of horror. J.B

ANNIKA
POSITIVE: The first thing we liked about this trailer was the dialogue used helped the audience to gain an understanding of the plot of the film as we get to know the characters a bit more than we usually word from trailers which revolve around shots and soundtrack. Our next point we picked up on was filming in the dark, filming in the dark created a sense danger and fear in all the shots as darkness is usually associated with horror films where the bad things always happen. It also helps to make the audience feel at unease because in the dark you can never know what's coming or what is about to happen. An example of this point would be in the Paranormal Activity films, where the activity only ever happens at night time and it is safe in the day time. Also using a classic horror convention of the blonde victim worked well in the trailer as it mirrors a lot of popular horror films. Along with this the use of the girl in the shower helped the teaser trailer to widen their audience by attracting a young teenage male audience.
IMPROVE: The improvement we thought of which they could use to improve the teaser trailer was a larger variety of shots which actually link to the story line. We believe this because a large amounts of the shots used in the trailer were quite similar to each other which deprived the audience of finding out more about the story of the film. This would lead to people losing interest in the film after the trailer because they would get bored of the repetitive shots therefore a wider range from throughout the film would be more effective in gaining a large audience. I feel their poster is vey effective as it tells the viewer a good view of the story just by the pictures. For example the two main characters are present both in a negative way which could show a bad relationship between the two. Also the amount of blood coming form the bath symbolises a lot of death.
Also this poster sends to us a lot of themes, such as secrets. The women holding him finger to her lips tells us something should be kept a secret. The text of this poster also gives a theme of the film being dirty; the text looks old and is leaking which looks effective. The poster all together looks uncomfortable and rememberable which makes an effective poster.

VIRAL
POSITIVE: Whilst analysing this trailer we thought the most effective part was the use of contrapuntal music as the words to the song 'feeling good' was largely ironic to the actual story line. We believe this was effective because the audience will instantly feel more intrigued by the trailer when it uses a familiar song which they know. Following this I believe it gives the trailer a unique selling point as it differs from original horror trailers. We also thought using the news report at the start of the trailer was an effective way of creating a storyline which people can easily understand. Another positive of using a news report is that it links to people's everyday culture which helps the audience to feel more involved in the film and creates a higher fear feeling as it seems like this could happen to them.
IMPROVE: In this trailer we thought some of the shots could be improved to create a more horror feeling as they almost looked like a pop video, they could do this by editing the light or putting a dingy/scary effect on the shot to help it create the horror feel rather than pop video. Following on from this we believe the close up shots really emphasise to the audience the makeup of the zombie which wasn't very believable as a zombie. To improve they could use more long shots and use of costume to contribute the zombie feeling to the audience instead of close ups. J.B
